The Nation will celebrate its seventh annual National Lightning
Safety Awareness Week, June 22-28, 2008. NWS staff thank
all of the people who are helping to make this year's lightning
safety campaign a reality. Lightning Safety Week is held the last full
week of June each year.

Communications Drills
Test Issuances: The National
Weather Service will issue TEST Warnings on:
Tuesday, April 29 @ 11:30 am - A TEST Severe Thunderstorm
Warning will be issued as a Special Weather Statement for mass dissemination
and as a Required Weekly Test (RWT) for the Emergency Alert System (EAS)
and for NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio.
Thursday, May 1 @ 1:15 pm - A TEST Tornado Warning
will be issued as a Special Weather Statement for mass dissemination
and as a Required Monthly Test (RMT) for the Emergency Alert System
(EAS) and for NOAA All Hazards Weather Radio.
